Your information,
handled thoughtfully.
How information is used in MoCo Residents.
Business pages, payments, and abuse prevention
Business pages display the contact details, service areas, photos, and offers you choose to publish. Street addresses display only when you enable that option. Review notes, account holds, billing references, and payment history are restricted to administration. When checkout is enabled, Stripe processes business-page payments; MoCo Residents does not receive or store card numbers or security codes.
We use email confirmation, limited request counters, repeated-content checks, and review of matching business contact details to reduce spam. Request counters use hashed identifiers and expire. If Cloudflare Turnstile is configured, it processes browser/security signals to validate forms. Shared networks, households, and phone numbers are not by themselves grounds for suspension. Contact us to correct information, request deletion, or appeal a restriction. Payment records may need to be retained for accounting and dispute handling.
What this site stores.
If you create an account, WordPress stores your display name, email address, password hash and selected neighborhood. You may also upload an optional profile photo. Listings, uploaded photos, saved finds, messages, reports, support requests and submitted interest forms are also stored on this site. Email verification records confirm control of your email address. Temporary rate-limit records help prevent repeated abusive requests.
What other people can see.
Published listings show their content, photos, your display name and neighborhood. Your account email is not displayed on listing pages. Messages are available to their sender, recipient and site administrators. Interest forms and reports are available to site administrators.
Community profiles, connections and groups.
Signed-in residents can view profiles and neighbor connections. You choose what to include in your profile. Your profile photo appears beside your profile and community activity. Profile photos are stored as web-accessible images; anyone with an image link may view it. You can replace or remove your photo from your profile settings. Community posts and replies can be visible to other members. Public groups are open to signed-in members; private-group conversations are limited to that group’s members; hidden groups are not listed in the directory. Site administrators can access community data for moderation.
Group admins can create invitation links. Anyone with a valid link can join after signing in and accepting. Admins can revoke or replace links; links expire after 14 days. Treat private and hidden group links as invitations to share carefully. Direct messages are intended for their participants; site administrators may access stored data for support and moderation.
Cookies and outside resources.
WordPress uses cookies to keep you signed in. The site uses Google Fonts and illustrative Unsplash images, which may receive your browser’s IP address when requested. This theme does not add advertising trackers.
Account emails.
Account confirmation, welcome messages and password resets are sent through our hosting provider, Pressable. Community notification preferences can be changed in your profile settings. These account messages do not subscribe you to a marketing newsletter. Business listing payments, when enabled, are processed through Stripe checkout.
Access, corrections and deletion.
You can edit your profile and remove your profile photo in your account. For an export, account deletion or other privacy request, contact the MoCo Residents team. We will confirm your control of the account before processing requests. Information remains stored until you remove it or the team processes a deletion request; expired marketplace listings become unpublished drafts after 30 days. Hosting backups may retain earlier copies for their backup retention period.
